Welcome to the Private Practice of Boulder. This is a consulting practice that has two complimentary facets.
Occupational Health (worker's comp)Our primary goal is the PREVENTION of work-related illness/injury by consulting with employers to reduce on-site hazards. Our secondary goal is the TREATMENT of occupationally-related injuries and illness. This practice is limited to selected small employers in The Boulder, CO area. Dr. Baumgardner also sees a limited number of patients with work-related problems who are not satisfied that the original or employer-assigned provider is pursuing a satisfactory course of diagnosis or treatment. Colorado Law provides limited windows of opportunity for individuals to change providers, so these patients may be referred by employers who seek faster resolution, or by injured employees though their own attorneys. Dr Baumgardner is residency-trained in Occupational Medicine, and before he returned to private practice, was the Corporate Medical Director for several large "Fortune 500" companies. Payment for work-related treatment has a statutory fee schedule and is accepted by this practice. Payment is not expected to be by the injured employee. |
Delayed Recovery AssistanceDr. Baumgardner offers "medical mentoring" for individuals who have chronic, severe, lifesyle-changing, unpleasant, and/or undiagnosed symptoms. He performs a complete review of difficult cases which are not responding to current therapies to those who want to take advantage of everything both modern and traditional medicine have to offer. Skilled in independent research techniques that compete with a dedicated staff of specialists, he uncovers the latest published data, and most importantly the best EVIDENCE BASED treatment suggestions are chosen. Home remedies are instructed and referrals made for the most effective type of therapy. He is a Bilingual Provider — for residents and travelers who mainly speak Spanish or German. Except for employees of companies who have contracted in advance for occupational Medicine with this practice, we do NOT provide acute or urgent general medical care, nor are we open to walk-ins. |

Payment will be expected at the time of service unless advance arrangements are made.
No insurance assignments are accepted. We are unable to accept new Medicare because of the liability risks under the new restrictive rules. Some indemnity health plans will be accepted. Exams done for agencies/attorneys/corporations will be expected to provide a check in advance.

Hospitals
Dr. Baumgardner maintains courtesy and emeritus status at local hospitals, but direct admissions are arranged through consulting specialists and Hospitalists.
